Did you know that there is an amazing and beneficial connection between pistachios and cholesterol? There has been a number of excellent studies that show that eating one to two one-ounce servings of pistachios a day will lower LDL (the bad cholesterol), raise HDL (the good cholesterol), and lower triglyceride blood levels. The studies showed a range of improvement (the range was affected by other factors) from 5% to 20% in the cholesterol levels. These results are truly remarkable! That amount of change is as good as several drugs that are prescribed today.
Now, the only issue with this amazing news is keeping the daily intake to just two one-ounce servings a day. Pistachios are so good it’s hard to stop eating them once you start! I recommend getting an ounce of pistachios out of the bag before you start eating to help limit over-indulging.
If you have any problems with your cholesterol, I highly recommend adding pistachios to your diet. There are few things in life that offer so much benefit with so little risk AND include eating something delicious!
